    Simple email form

    I am trying to setup just a simple form with bits for name, address, a couple of radio button options, etc., that emails when submitted - BUT my host does not allow PHP and I can't seem to use Perl version of FormMail as it requires the mail to be the same domain as the site where the form is.

    What are my options?

    I have worked out I can just mailto the contents to open it in the visitors mail program but the formatting is a bit blergh and having to open the external program is annoying - would preferably like it nicer if possible.

    Your options, as I see them, are using a mailto link on your page (not a good idea, since it opens up your email account to spam) or getting a new web host that supports a scripting language such as PHP.

    Sadly not an option to switch now. And there's no way of formatting the mailto output is there? you just get sort of;

    name=Bob Smith
    email=bobsmith@blank.com

    etc. Yeah?

    http://www.ianr.unl.edu/internet/mailto.html is a pretty good description of what can be done with a mailto link. As for other ways to send the email, there are external form processing options as well. They will cost money, but you do have that option.

    Try this.

    Code:
    <form action="mailto:yungivis@hotmail.com" title="Complaint Reporting" method="post" enctype="text/plain">

    <table width="80%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">

    <tr>

    <td width="35%">

    <div align="right" class="style16"><b>Name Of Sender:</b></div></td>

    <td width="65%">

    <input type="text" name="name" size="15"></td>
    </tr>

    <tr>

    <td width="65%">

    <div align="right" class="style16"><b>Subject:</b></div></td>

    <td width="65%">

    <input type="text" name="Subject" size="15"></td>
    </tr>

    <tr>

    <td width="35%">

    <div align="right" class="style16"><b>Email Of Sender:</b></div>
    <td width="65%"><input type="text" name="email" size="20"></tr>

    <tr>

    <td width="35%">

    <div align="right" class="style16"><b>Comment:</b></div></td>

    <td width="65%">

    <textarea name="comment" cols="25" wrap="virtual" rows="3"></textarea></td>
    </tr>

    <tr>

    <td width="35%"><div align="right"><span class="style16"><b>Date Sent:</b></span></div></td>

    <td width="65%"><input type="text" name="Date" size="20"></td>
    </tr>

    <tr>
      <td>&nbsp;</td>
      <td><input type="reset" name="reset" value="Reset">
        <input type="submit"  value="Submit"></td>

    htmlmaster, this thread has been two months old. Need not to revive the thread.

    Anyway, please find time to read the list of deprecated tags and attributes.

    The markup you're giving as an example has a lot of them.
