    A few band myspace questions

    Hey guys,

    I need the coding to put an image on top of my bands page. It will be a banner.

    For reference : www. myspace.com/fallcityfall

    I also need to know the coding to make the tables completely see through. I have an image as a background and every code I try doesn't seem to do what I want it to do, all the ones I've tried have made the table backgrounds white. All I want to see is the words, and the background.

    Essentially I want it to do this following style:

    http:// profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=184612361

    Thank you,

    Taylor

    Re: A few band myspace questions

    i can't guarantee that this will work
    as i do not know a whole lot about band pages yet.
    i took the following codes from the band page that you said you wanted your profile to look like.

    this code is the same as regular profile codes,
    this one hides the background on all tables and should make all borders disappear, if you want borders to stay erase the orange section. (put within style tags)

    table, td {
    background-color:transparent;
    border:none;
    border-width:0px;
    }

    And then for the image banner code,
    i took this directly from the mentioned band's website also,

    <style>
    .wh {width: 1138px;height: 999px;position: absolute;margin-left: -530px;left: 50%;top: 220px !important; top: 220px;}
    body table {margin-top:850px;}
    body td table, body div table {margin-top: 0;}
    table table {z-index:5; margin-top:10px;}
    body{ background-position:top center;margin-top: 20;}

    </style>

    <div class="wh">
    <img src="http://www.nion.be/~justin/apleaforpurging/myspacegraphics/hammertime/methodheader.png">
    </div>

    ======Breakdown of code=========
    Red = whatever you would like the banner to be called in the coding.

    Lime Green = whatever the width of the image is.
    (given width is the width of the band's profile code was taken from.)

    Yellow = Whatever the height of the image is. (again given height value is the height of the image on given band's profile.)

    Dark Orchid or dark purple = positioning coding. (again given values were taken from the bands profile you gave the link to that you want your profile to look like.)

    Dark Green = URL to your image you want in the banner.

    Cyan or sky blue = i would leave this coding, i'm not sure what this all does, but i'm pretty sure that it moves the rest of the profile down so the banner will not cover any parts of the profile.

    Again i'm only not sure because i do not have much practice with band profiles.
    But please to let me know if these codes do not work,
    and if these don't i will create a band profile and figure it out for you.
    Also sometimes i tend to make things alot more difficult sounding when i try to make them sound easier, lol, go figure, but let me know if you need further clarification on what to do.
    thanks.

    I'm not on much anymore,
    so please be patient myspace coders!

    Re: A few band myspace questions

    Holy crap you are awesome.

    Really all I needed was the table code.

    Which worked great.

    And the spacing code was awesome too.

    If you don't mind me asking some more of your advice,

    I want to place pictures over links, specifically the contact info, as well as placing images as titles (Bio, Blogs, so on)

    And to go along with the code for spacing out the banner from the rest of the profile, how do I move the banner down? It covers the links right now because its too high. I had a code for it but accidentally deleted it.

    Again, I thank you for your help.
    You made me not want to shoot the computer!

    Re: A few band myspace questions

    To move the banner down, using the coding in last reply, that looks like this:

    <style>
    .wh {width: 1138px;height: 999px;position: absolute;margin-left: -530px;left: 50%;top: 220px !important; top: 220px;}
    body table {margin-top:850px;}
    body td table, body div table {margin-top: 0;}
    table table {z-index:5; margin-top:10px;}
    body{ background-position:top center;margin-top: 20;}
    </style>

    The dark orange values are to move the banner down or up.
    Increse the value to move it down,
    decrease to move it up.

    =======================
    As for replacing links with images,
    most people just create what they want the link to say in a image, save it on their computer, upload to a site like photobucket or tinypic and then use the coding they give you which should look something like this:

    <a href="URL_IMAGE_LINKED_TO"><img src="URL_OF_IMAGE"></a>

    Now for example I usually use photobucket,
    it gives me the above mentioned code, and the "URL_IMAGE_LINKED_TO" is what I change if i would like to have the image send someone to a different location besides the default that photobucket gives you.
    Usually the default just sends the person to where that image is located on the hosting website.

    Now as for myspace, people do the steps mentioned above and usually hide whatever links myspace has in order to replace with their own images linked to where
    ever they specify.

    ------------------------
    If you need a better breakdown or step by step let me know.

    I'm not on much anymore,
