Help with Easy File Manager 1.6

I recently purchased Easy File Manager because I needed an easy way for a client of mine to share files with his customers he needed each to be able to securely sign in to his own directory and upload and download files

I installed the script and i can create users and they can log in but when they try to upload files or create directories NOTHING happens
I have emailed the authors at hotcgiscripts.com but they do not respond

you can see the site at www.ecchvac.net/ecchvaccgi/admin.cgi username admin pw admin and www.ecchvac.net/ecchvaccgi/index.cgi username mbsweb pw test

    can anyone help?

I don't know anything about your script, but from the way you describe your problem, it sounds to me like a folder permissions issue; i.e., the folder or folders do not have write permission.

    Hi,

I logged into your script and the first thing I notice is that NONE of the buttons work, which is due to a javascript error, not a cgi/perl error. Do you encounter the same problem?

    hi,

I have been through the source code and tested a couple of things, although its slightly difficult because the html is un-complient to w3 standards. The buttons should be working as the javascript looks fine.

I read these guidelines from their website:
Copy files to your cgi-bin directory.
Then install the execution rights (755 or rwx-rx-rx)
Run install.cgi (by typping in your browser http://your_server_name/cgi-bin/install.cgi)
Or our specialists will install it for you totally free!

Firstly did you follow those guidelines / encounter any problems whilst doing so?

Secondly I would check if "Or our specialists will install it for you totally free!" is some sort of policy because they should be responding to you.

Thirdly did you edit any part of the cgi script or left it as it was once you ran install.cgi?

Can you pull out any lines from the CGI script that you think may be causing a problem and post them here?

    Chris

Well you paid for the script therefore they should provide support otherwise maybe ask for your money back.

As you paid for it, I do not suggest posting any parts of the script(s) as you will most likely not have permission to do so, which makes it a bit difficult as I am unable to see the raw code.

I would definately consider asking why the buttons do not all work within the javascript forum.

I hope you fix your problems, goodluck
