    Re: Videos streaming

    A couple quesitons on this.

    1. Are you on shared hosting or your own server?
    2. Do you have any experience with server-side scripting (PHP, ASP, etc.)
    3. Are you on a Linux or Windows server?

The answers to these questions will help us answer your question.

1.I have not chosen a host yet, Now I'm playing around with Iweb for Mac using templates for web pages and also adding in my own html with a html widget option.

    2. Very little.. I do however have someone at my disposal if needed.

In choosing a host, you need to keep the following in mind:
    1. If you are planning on hosting the videos, you will probably need a dedicated server as it can require quite a bit of bandwidth, processor, and storage space
    2. If you are planning on having the videos stored elsewhere, are you going to embed a player on your website, or just give the users a link to open? This will affect the amount of bandwidth you need as well.

If you are planning on hosting the videos yourself or embedding a player into your website, this will be a necessity.

Just as an FYI, Safari is a browser, not a server. There are two primary servers out there: Apache (which typically is run on Linux) and IIS (which is only run on Windows). You will not be able to answer this question until you choose your host. However, I wholeheartedly recommend finding a host that is running Apache on Linux. You will be much happier.
