    Top 10 sorting

    Hi there
Iīve made a little html-document (Also with JavaScript of course) which can make a Top 10. You can type how many votes (look at the attached ZIP-folder) each song will have, and then when you are finished, you can click the button "Sort". This will sort the content of the textfields, so that the song with most votes will lay in the top etc.

What will the code be for that?

    PS: sang means song
    stemmer means votes
    (Danish)

PSS: The Top 10 is designed for IE

    Talking Re: Top 10 sorting

Oh my god!!!!!!!!! You can danish! (or maybe itīs just Google Translate)

There is some problems with the code. You see, "Stemmer" is not the rating, itīs how many votes it has, and it can be over 10. And I donīt know if itīs possible, but can you change the code so the rating (now votes) can be equal to some others, that happens some times in "Top 10 making".

Thank you coothead, almost what I wanted.

Maybe you can take a look at the thread about arrays and checkboxes, I have a(nother...) problem.

    Re: Top 10 sorting

    Hi there adamsen,

sorry for the long delay on this project.
It took me four days and nights to figure out how to do it!!!
The problem was not with the number sorting but with the song sorting.

Anyway , better late than never.

Let me know if the attachment now meets your requirements.

Thumbs up Re: Top 10 sorting

    Hi again Coothead

You have done a FANTASTIC work!!
I know how it is to think in a couple of days, right now im working on a java-program which can calculate PI...
    Thatīs not easy
But your work is fantastic, and itīs exactly what I wanted. I know that you just canīt say to a computer what it has to do, you have to think. And im glad about that there are at least one of these problemcrunchers in the world.
    Thanks!!!

    Re: Top 10 sorting

    Oh, I forgot something..
Coothead, Im very bussy now. The Top 10 is an exercise(my own idea...) for my school, and I forgot it was tomorrow I should show it. Please help me. In the top ten there has to be an button, and when you click it, all the content of the textfields will be written in the bottom of the page (propably document.write syntax) in the order it just has been sorted (sortere button). And there has to be numbers (for instance: Song with highest vote-value is number 1., the next No. 2 etc.). And when this is done, it has to be possible to copy this which just has been written.

    Re: Top 10 sorting

    Hi coothead

Thanks for the help. I was a bit confused about the time I should show this little program (Oopss..). But there is a little problem. The design is very good when you click the "display top 10", I think it will be the best to show this in plain-text, because of Word. When you insert this in Word (or other programs), there will apear tables, and so on, and I think my teacher wants it compatible with a program called "NoteBook", which in the programming-way is very equal to Word (userfriendly etc.).
