    Question Inline Frame Help

    Hey guys,

    Just logged on searching for answers and this appears to be the best web design help forum out there so props for that!

    My problem is this:

    I am creating a webpage with some inline frames. I understand how to create the inline frame and can quite comfortably do so and change its properties. My problem is: I want the inline frame to "frame" only a small section of the other page. The section of the page I need "iframed" is down the page in the centre. I can't for the life of me figure out how to frame only a small section of the other page.

    I have no access to the code on the page that I need framed.

    Thanks guys for your help in advance!

    Hi there rham,

    and a warm welcome to these forums.

    This example should give you the basic method to solve your problem...
    Code:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css">

    <title></title>

    <style type="text/css">
    h3 {
        text-align:center;
     }
    h3 a {
        color:#000;
     }
    #iframe_container {
        width:468px;
        height:262px;
        margin:auto;
        overflow:hidden;
     }
    #iframe_container iframe{
        width:1024px;
        height:2000px;
        margin-top:-248px;
        margin-left:-192px;
     }
    </style>

    </head>
    <body>

    Hi there rham,
    Any tips on legality issues?
    You must bear in mind that my forte is problem solving, regardless of the legality or otherwise of the solution.
    So, if you have any concerns in that department, then I would suggest that you approach the site in question and seek their permission.
    Probably a simple acknowledgement of the source of the extract on your site would be sufficient.
