    Help with body width

First, let me say that I am new to HTML. I apologize if I don't describe my problem correctly, or if I am posting in the wrong place.

I am helping out friend by editing a website of his that was written by someone else. The problem I am having at the moment is, I think, with the body width. It changes on different pages if the content goes past a certain point on the page.

    Here is a link... http://66.147.242.84/~gttgrpco/htdocs/index.php

You will notice that on the home page and any of the shorter pages (like under Services), the width is the same, but once you click on any of the other longer pages, it changes.

Any help? Anything else you need from me?

    Thanks!

    Betsy

    Re: Help with body width

The issue is with the scroll bar. When you center the page, it bases it off the edges of the screen. When the scroll bar is added (the info goes below the screen), the dimensions of the window changes, and the position in the screen changes. There really is nothing that can be done about that.

As for the width, you can change all your percentage based widths (that are not 100%) to fixed pixel widths (i.e. change 92% to 815px). The width will not change any more.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

No need to feel stupid. Sometimes the obvious is the hardest to see.

I am just glad it is now working.
