Help required with naming/labelling menu buttons.

I have a button image(gif) for a menu(actually two-one for mouseoff and other for mouseover)and I want to use it to create my menu(horizontal).I don't know how to get the menu text written on the button,i.e.,I don't know how to title the button as 'Files','Archives',etc(like the buttons on this site which are named'profile','usercp','buddy','email','register',etc).

If I succed in getting the naming/labelling both the gif images,I can use them for a mouseover effect in my menu.

    Pl help me with this.

    Hi there.

You need to open the images in an image editor and add the text. Once done, the text is part of the image and you can use it for anything you want.

Paint Shop Pro is good, with a free trial @ www.jasc.com

An 'emergency only' solution is to use an online editor such as -

What graphics editor are you using?

If you're not graphics-minded e-mail or PM me through the forum and I'll do it for you.

If you're on a Windows platform, use

    http://irfanview.com (the program there)

to convert the .gif to .bmp and then use

    mspaint.exe (program comes with windows)

to add the text (view text toolbar for sizes)

and then convert back to .gif, again, with irfanview.exe. That's how I do it.

just use mspaint to add the words in. the easiest solutions, since you're just adding text
should take u about 2 seconds per pic.
