    website layout

    I need to find out how to do something like this:

    | |
    | |
    | |==========| |
    | | TEXT BOX | |
    _________| | | |__________
    | |
    | |
    | |
    | |
    | |
    | | | |
    | |___________| |
    | |
    | |
    _________| |___________

    How would I do it? Just make pictures of those right angles and then load them onto the page and align them? Or is there a special table or frame code I could use? If someone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Gah, I didn't check the post before I wrote it, so it's all messed up, basically.. it's like this:

    >Right angle>>>>- >>>>>>>>->>>Backwards right
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>angle
    >>>>>>>>>>>>Scrolling
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>text
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>box

    >Right angle>>>>- >>>>>>>->>>Backwards right
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>angle

    Hi there,

    Whilst I am still unclear on what you are trying to achieve, it sounds like you maybe need to look into the 'tables' tutorials on the right. You may also want to look into the css tutorials here: http://css.somepeople.net

    Or, in the case of something that can't wait until the final version is debugged, there's always the very powerful <PRE>

    (formatted text inserted here)

    </PRE> tags.

    (These forums should have something like that so that your first post could have been displayed as you wanted.)

    I'm sorry about screwing up the post TWICE! I thought I got it right the second time. :-\. But, basically what I want to figure out is how to do the right angle things, like this. (I'm semi-good with tables, I just don't know how to cut off sides of them):

    >>>>>>>>|
    >>>>>>>>|
    >>>>>>>>|
    >>>>>>>>|
    _________|

    > = space

    Can you find a graphics program and draw this up for us or something? I'm really not getting what you're looking for and giving us a better idea will yield more accurate answers to your question. Thx!

    or use the code vbtag. keeps your formatting fine.

    I cannot demo it well, but add a [ and a ] for each tag and use like this -

    code
    my code
    /code

    comes out

    Code:
    my code

    Are you trying to do a table with only the right and bottom borders?

    No, I was just using an illustration to see if that's the effect that eccmoh is looking for.
    I would probably use css positioning and position four divs and use the border-top border-left attributes for top left, border-bottom and border left for bottom left, etc.
    I say I would "start" with that, but there might be a better way to do it if that's what he wants.
    If that is the most efficient, I think it's a good idea for a unique design!

    Android - that illustration is JUST what I'm looking for if you turn around the borders and put a text box in between the four of them.
