Red face Frame sets and scrollbars!

Hey guys, i have this frameset. 3 frames

    Left, MAIN & Right.

the content loads in the main frame.
the width is set to 780

On the top of the main frame i have an aimage that is 780 pixs wide. When i add another table, the same width 780, scroll bars appear.

I understand why they appear vertically, coz obviously the content goes far below, but i dnt understand why they go across since the widths are the same???

Is ther a way to stop the scrolling from the sides only??

    thanks

Are the margins for both the image and the table set the same?

Wink thanks 4 the replys guys!!

u can have a look at it here, of course it isn't the original, but thats the same way i approcahed it using framesets.

I understand y there would be a downscroll, but one for the side, i dnt know why, because the table is the exact same width!!

I just want to get rid of the side scroll!!

    here is the site http://www.geocities.com/steph_flounder/

i want to achieve sumpin like this http://www.greaterunion.com
i was looking for movie times, an i came across it by accident!!

    First off you should remove
    PHP Code:
    rows="*"
as you cannot have rows and clums within the same frameset.

I think if you change to 760 you should be ok

You are probably aware that you are going to have the geocities ad on every page of the frameset.

That site sure has alot of nested tables in the center frame. Did you notice that they're all pretty well width adjusted using percentages? Try replacing your pixel widths in the frameset and in the center frame with percentages. It makes for a liquid layout.
Alternatively, adjust the widths of your tables to be a little narrower than the frames.
Have you made sure that all margins=0? The scrollbar could be appearing to accommodate the margin around the table.
Is anything going in the two outside frames? If not, why use frames?

Firstly i wanted that user name!!

Secondly, where do i place that code? (im not very good with html yet...a beginner)

    Android

the tables in the centre are adjusted by pixels.
I need that image in the middle, so i dnt knw how it would work if i adjusted the centre frame with percentages!

    All margins are =0

Yes sumpin is going on the outside frames!!
Im gonna give it a go soon, hopefully it will work!!

It is not where it goes, it is where it does not go. Again your frameset contains both rows and columns, this does not work. If you need both rows and columns you need to call a second frameset from one of the frame src in the first frameset. You may want to take a look at the frame tutorials on this site.

Also, adjust your width down to 760 and the horizontal scroll should be eliminated.

Better do something with the values then......at 800x600 you can only see 10 pixels on either side of the center frame. And there's a vertical scrollbar as well so it exagerates the horizontal scrollbar.
Keep at it. We're all beginners. I've always thought that when it doesn't feel like I'm learning, I find a different hobby

    Oh, and DAVE'S NOT HOME!!!

I dont see the changes I told you(twice) that need to be made. So I could repeat the same thing a 3rd time, but I won't.

the only thing i can do is remove the "rows*" code!

I cant reduce the size of the image, coz it has to be 780.

Now with regards to the rows and columns, i never new i created that, i thughti avoided that. obviously im wrong!!

So ill have a look at this tutorial thingy, hopefully that will help me a bit.

( i didnt inset a table for the main frameset, so i dnt know how i would of created rows and columns )

    thanks anyway!!

    Il have another shot 2morrow!!

thats wif changes! ( the image is 780 asuming were on a bigger screen than 800x600 )

You need to decide what you want, it is really a simple fix if you are willing to play with the pixels a bit.

    780 main
    + left frame
    + right frame
+ scroll bar will not work,

set the main to 764 and it will, If you cannot reduce it from 780 than this will not work.

If the answer does not fit your needs the answer would still be the same the fourth time, assuming I would actually answer a fourth time which would be a poor assumption.
