    table solution

    personally, i'm a big fan of tables, so for that effect, I would use something to this effect:

    <table height="100%" width="100%">
    <tr>
    <td align="center" valign="center">Text
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    or, if you only wanted it to be centered horizontally, and not vertically, a much simpler solution is available:

    <center>text</center>
    or
    <p align="center">text</p>
