    How do you do this?

Hey guys, im a beginner to web-design and i was just wondering how do you create a site like this ::

    http://www.absolutecross.com/

what im curious about is the way they have used images and sliced them up to create a nice look.

    Is it just tables?

Or is it maybe done in another program, sliced up, then taken to dreamweaver or something similar?

Or can it be created totaly in fireworks or sumpin??

    Thanks

I think what you are looking for is "image maps", you will find software that will slice the image and give you the table code at any download site.

You're instincts are correct, in my view.

I build sites all day long using the techniques you've mentioned:

Create an image - Slice it up - Lay it out, on the page, in tables.

Which program(s) you use to do it with is just a matter of preferrence.

And it takes a little forethought ..... and sometimes a little after thought, ahem...

I'd much prefer to answer specific questions you may have on these techniques, as that would help the community more.

But if you really want to see some of my sites, send me a PM.
