    Angry popups

I don't know if I'm in the right place for this question or not, but I don't know where else to go. I am getting popup messages on my computer --- even when I am not actively logged on. I have tried writing to the company telling them to stop (I know, HA! HA!) but of course they haven't. Is there anything I can do about these? Some of them are porn related and very offensive. Thanks for any advice you can give.

What operating system are you running? Also, what kind of popups? Do they look like windows system messages, or are they popup browser windows?

(I am guessing the answer is windows 2000, and they look like windows system messages. If so, right click My Computer, Choose 'Manage', Choose Services & Applications, then Services.

Find 'Messenger' on the list, right click, choose 'Stop'. Then right click and choose 'Properties' and change the startup type to 'Manual'. If its the problem I am thinking of, this will fix it.)
