    opening new .html files inside a page

    Ok so I've been working on some HTML code lately and I am redesigning my website. I have been working with tables and I am currently stuck. let me see if I can explain, -I want to be able to load .html pages inside a main .html page WITHOUT frames.

    code:
    <TABLE height=380 width=557 >
    <TBODY>
    <TR>
    <TD vAlign=top>
    <H4>TEXT CAN GO IN HERE</H4>
    </TD>
    </TR>
    </TBODY>
    </TABLE>

    This table is embedded inside some other tables. Where it says TEXT CAN GO IN HERE I want to be able to load a seperate .html page inside this table without ever exiting the main one, mainly for loading times, but otherwise I am going to have to rewrite about 50+ html pages that can just be loaded in this table.

    Is there a javascript code or something else that anyone has tried???

    Thanx

    use an iframe. it will load another html page.

    <iFrame src='page.html' frameborder=0 width=100 height='100%' name='name' marginheight=0 marginwidth=0 scrolling=auto>

    hope that helps

    Alternatively, use an include. Use the Search link for examples of how to do this.

    all the code...

    Ok I tried what doorknob said and it works just fine, but it tweeks my tables so bad I don't know how to fix 'em, god I hate tables, they are very confusing to me. Anyways I included the entire code below if anyone is proficent in tables please help me. If you notice I have one sidebar link, then the iframe, then the rest of the sidebar links, and so on. I am thinking that switching the table setup to display all of the links on the sidebar should be consecutive and then have the table for the iframe last, but I am not sure how to accomplish this.

    Thanks for taking a look

    The code should look like this:

    <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=700 border=0>
    <TBODY>
    <TR>
    <TD colSpan=2 rowSpan=3><IMG height=84 alt=""
    src="template1_files/template1_01.gif" width=72></TD>
    <TD rowSpan=3><IMG height=84 alt="" src="template1_files/template1_02.jpg"
    width=42></TD>
    <TD colSpan=3 rowSpan=3><IMG height=84 alt=""

    Have you run the page thru the HTML validator? It is probably just a case of an open table, tr or td tag.

    Well guys, I ended up redoing my image slicing and made some frames that in effect are doing what I want them to do, but this raises a bigger question for me, why can we NOT have a bunch of nested tables that in effect could load different html pages inside of them? How come this is not possible. Well I know becuase the way html works, but html is so open I am suprised that there isn't an easy way to do it, without the use of frames. Are there any programming languages out there where you can modify the properties and purposes of html tags all together? Anyways I figured out my problem by approaching it differently and still recieved the desired effect.

    thanks for the help.
