    Hiya.

The answer is that it very much depends.

If your CMS system stores the passwords as something known as a hash, then no script can read it. A hash is a 'one-way' encryption method, and cannot be decrypted. Simple as that. Its the most secure was of storing passwords.

Do you know what format your passwords are stored in? If it is a one-way hash, you may want to look into resetting the password randomly instead of sending the existing one.

eek. Its Perl. Sorry, I have very limited skills in Perl. I am not sure.

It may be worth having a look at the script available in the Perl section of www.hotscripts.com , but actually integrating them with the existing system would be a job in itself.

It may be worth asking around the scripts author, see if anyone has already done the work for this.
