iframe scrollbars dif from browser scrollbar?
Hello all. I'm a newbie to this site (and coding to be honest).
I'm using iframes in my site. I wanted to change the scrollbars to different nifty colors than just the standard ie or ns colors. However, I don't want them to be the same as my browser's main scrollbar.
Here's my site - www.wayoutpost.com/index3.shtml
Any ideas? I saw a site that had this, but it was flash based so I'm not certain I can do it.
cheers from Brasil,
Jonathan

Hiya, welcome to the forums
If you put your scrollbar code in the page that is actually displayed in the iframe instead of the page containing the iframe, it should work fine.If one of our members helps you, please click theicon to add to their reputation!

I've never done it, but I believe that it is accomplished within the HEAD of the HTML document that is loaded within the iframe, (not within the main document (index.html?) that is setting the location of the iframe).
Hope that's clear enough for you.
BTW it's IE browser specific. Other browsers just ignore it and display the default colours.
EDIT: I spent too long scratching my head, I guess.......

thanks!! additional question ...:::...
That worked great. Cool. I'm 1/1 on post-answer wins.
As a follow up question, is there a property for the iframe that allows me to make the scrollbark thinner or thicker. I don't think there is as I haven't found it anywhere (google or otherwise). I figured if anyone knew about it, you guys would.
Cheers,
JP

Android: heh, happens to me all the time.
wayoutpost: without moving into the realms of DHTML, there is no way to alter the scrollbars to that extent. Sorry. If one of our members helps you, please click theicon to add to their reputation!

Re: iframe scrollbars dif from browser scrollbar?
hello,
I am not sure if this is possible, but I am using publisher to create an in house website, and I need to add a scroll bar to the whole page because it's being opened in another program that's webpaged. anyways, I tried the codes provided but its just a box and is not putting a scroll bar vertically on what I have already done.
So my ultimate question I guess is, how do I put a scroll bar on the full page that is already created. any codes?? thanks
