Well, lets see. I am 14 years old, and have had a website for probably 3 years with the internet for 4. I love designing web sites and graphics, and actually thinking of adding a graphics creating service to the list of my sites (If you need one, just ask, I will create it for you). So far, I have created banners for the following:

[list][*]AHFB 2000- yes this site. I created a simple banner for promotion reasons[*]B:Tech - created all the graphics on there[*]The Grouchyface Website - Created 5 - 6 banners for promotional reasons

I like to use PSP 5.0. I would like to learn photoshop next summer, but I am not sure. I like to use PSP noise a lot with my graphics as it adds to it. Anything else you want to know?

Post Hi Allyn! (and everyone else too)

Hi Allyn! I'm new around here and I was wondering if you could tell me a little bout yourself. What is your experience with web graphics? What programs do you prefer?

I am trying to learn how to use adobe photoshop. maybe someday i can afford to buy it Previously, I've used corel photopaint. I don't have all that much experience with graphics... i just play around with programs now and then.

Hi again! Thanks for your response. I just visited your web site... you are all about the noise aren't you. No offense but your graphics seen a little simple. I usually use some shading and the bevel/emboss feature in photoshop to give images more depth. I haven't done web graphics for a while but if you would like to see an example of my work go to http://www.spaceports.com/~meggie/images/cyberseclogo.jpg It's a logo I designed for the company I work for.

Can you show me an example of one of your banners?

BIG oops. I forgot all about this post. I have to goto bed right now, so I'll post some tomorrow, and explain for you. I will tell you that I use a very basic program, so I can't get the shading very well. Check back and I'll tell you then

OK, as I promiced, I will post info on what I do.

As I can tell, you noticed that I like noice, and that is somewhat true. I used to really like the noise, but to use it creates graphics TOO big, so I am not using it anymore, which means smaller graphics sizes.

Yes, my graphics are simpler than many other people, but I have access to one program (PSP5) and that is it. I want to take computer coarces this summer to learn other graphic software. I also don't know what all the filters do in PSP5, so I really can't use them.

I like that banner, and I can do fading in colours from, say, purple to white ( http://www.beanie-galaxy.net/price_info/price.shtml )

An outdated banner is at http://www.beanie-galaxy.net/galaxy_banner.gif

    Does that help?

Most banner exchanges state that your banner may be no larger than 8k, that 1 is 40K ouch!

Yes, I know it is large. That is why I am going back to simpler. I never used it in banner exchanges like link exchange, but for people who wanted to trade banners. I am shrinking the size down with my new site look, so it will come out about 5k big, maybe slightly more.

    Aren't I supposed to be a moderator?

With PSP5, you can make much more advance gfx
Here are 3 banners I made with a 'not-so-good' gfx composer called Microsoft Image Composer

    Wink

Very nice. I am not the best at graphics, and wish I was better, but I will have to work on them, I just really don't have time right now.
