Question bmp and jpg or gig

Hi, I have spend a while in this computer trying to figure how to change a bmp file to a jpg or gig file. The bmp file is a logo that I create in paint. I tried to inserted into my web page as a picture but it only accepts jpg or gig files. Can somebody tell me of any program that creates jpg files, or how to change the format of the file.
    Thanks for your time.

paint (should) be able to save as GIF or JPG, have a look in the 'Type' section of the Save As dialog.

Paint Shop pro is pretty good, d/l a trial @ www.jasc.com
