    Hi there moonrakerbc,

Here is the code that you will require to play a background sound
    Code:
    <embed src="bogey.mid" autostart="true"hidden="true"loop="true"width="0"height="0"></embed>
To get it to work you will need to upload bogey.mid to your 'Main Welcome Page'.

I am assuming that you do not know how to do this so....
Go the site that has the midi file and it will be downloaded to your Temporary Internet Files.

This will be located at C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

Highlight this file and click 'Copy this item' under 'Folder Tasks'.
A dialogue box will appear asking you where to place the copy...Documents will suit your purpose.
Go to Documents and you will find your permanent copy but it will be named...bogey[1]...so rename it.

Upload this file to your 'Main Welcome Page'.
Place the 'embed' code within the 'body' section of your page.
    And that's it...so have a beer

Do bear in mind that many people find background music very aggravating
and it may be worth considering giving them the option of turning it off rather than have them cut short their visit to your site

To faciliate this you can amend the code to....
    Code:
    <embed src="bogey.mid" autostart="true"hidden="false"loop="false"width="150"height="30"></embed>
The music will play automatically as they enter your site, but with the player controls visible you have given the option of turning it off...
and back on as the whim takes them

    Hi there QuietDean,

I am curious as to why you believe that leaving a space between autostart="true" and hidden will make any difference

I tested the code in both IE6.0 and Netscape7.1 (my normal practice) before posting
