    Question How to make a page open at the bottom after refreshing.

    Hello everyone. I have a question about how I can get a page to open at the bottom, not at the top.

    I have a "Refesh this Page" button at the bottom of a particular page (close to where information relevant to my visitors is located) and they need to use this button fairly regularly... and to make things a little easier for them and to save them having to scroll all the way back down again, I wondered whether I could make the page re-open again at the bottom of the page, back to where their button is located.

    Right now I use a simple form.... (I hope I'm allowed to use the code here)

    <form method=post action="pageURL.html">
    <input type=submit name=refresh value='Refresh this Page'></form>

    They click it... and the page reloads just fine, but back to the top. I tried to add an anchor... but it didn't work either.

    <form method=post action="pageURL.html#refresh">
    <input type=submit name=refresh value='Refresh this Page'></form>
    <br>
    <a name="refresh">back to here please?</a>

    I searched the forum but couldn't find anything that might help. Is their a way to do this without too much trouble?

    hiya, welcome to the forums.

    try this -

    Code:
    <a href="javascript:void(0);" onClick="window.location.reload();">refresh</a>
    See if that works.

    Thanks for the welcome.

    No luck Dean... it just bounces me back up to the top of the page... mind you, I'm not testing this code online, just locally using notepad. This shouldn't make a difference..?.. I'm just exhausting all the possibilities.

    I've even tried...
    Code:
    <form><input type=submit name=refresh value='Refresh this Page' onload=window.location="absbottom'">
    </form>
    ... and.
    Code:
    <form>
    <input type=submit name=refresh value='Refresh this Page' onclick="location.href='pageURL.htm#refresh'">
    </form>
    <a name="refresh"></a>
    so far without any joy... how about..?
    Code:
    <exasperated><reloadto="here please"></exasperated>

    edit: tried to fix side-scrolling

    Hmm.

    How about -

    Code:
    <a href="page.htm#bottom">reload page</a>
    ? as long as you have a bottom tag, this should work, I would have thought.

    Yes Dean... that works, but I still need to somehow be able to use the button. It's just the pages layout and design is all. The button is part of of the design.

    Re: How to make a page open at theTOP after refreshing.

    Hello all,

    I am new and have a problem, probably a beginner's one.

    When I refresh or reload the page using the browser button, it does not open at the top, but at the anchor where it was before refreshing.

    The page opens correctly at the top when called up by url.

    How can I make it open at the top after refreshing?

    Any help is welcome.
