    Unhappy Invisible Scrollbars

    I've been searching the web but I can't find out how to make invisible scrollbars, the ones that you can see the bg through.

    Any help?

    Code:
    BODY {
              SCROLLBAR-FACE-COLOR:#FFFFFF;
              SCROLLBAR-HIGHLIGHT-COLOR: #FFFFFF;
              SCROLLBAR-SHADOW-COLOR: #FFFFFF;
              SCROLLBAR-3DLIGHT-COLOR: #FFFFFF;
              SCROLLBAR-ARROW-COLOR: #FFFFFF;
              SCROLLBAR-TRACK-COLOR: #FFFFFF;
              SCROLLBAR-DARKSHADOW-COLOR: #FFFFFF;
            }

    I've already tried that. All it does is change colors. It doesn't make the background show through

    No it does not allow that, nothing does. What you think you see on those pages is done with the above code.

    Hmmm...I've been working with CSS for quite a while, and I haven't seen any coding that caused a browser reaction like that. I've fiddled with the colors and all, but I still get a solid color BG.

    P.S., thanks for the welcome. ^_^

    I didn't see anything like what you're describing. What I say was a white scrollbar with yellow trim on a white background done with styles like posted by Dave.
    I've never seen nor heard of it being done. The scrollbar is part of browser. Outside of colours, it's not very likely that what you seek is possible.

    The only thing I can think of that might work is setting a color using the color keyword 'transparent' in your scrollbar css

    I dont think that has been done in this example but might be worth a try

    In the main html use:
    <IFRAME style="FILTER: chroma(color=#405028)">

    in the iframe: use:

    BODY {
    SCROLLBAR-FACE-COLOR : #405028 ;
    SCROLLBAR-HIGHLIGHT-COLOR :#405028
    SCROLLBAR-SHADOWCOLOR :#405028;
    SCROLLBAR-3DLIGHT-COLOR :#F7DB16;
    SCROLLBAR-ARROW
    COLOR :#F7DB16;
    SCROLLBAR-TRACK-COLOR :#405028;
    SCROLLBAR-DARKSHADOW-COLOR : #405028}

    and all colors with #405028 are transparant,
    works only in IE Explorer, i presume...
