Using OpenSSL to create a SSL certificate for my site.

I just downloaded openSSL and I need to use it to secure my site. How do I go about doing this? I unzipped it and I ran the two exe files that where unzipped, and I get nothing but a msdos screen that flashes once.

I know there has to be more to it then that, so people who have used it, can you please tell me what I need to do. I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I didnt know what section was appropriate.

About the best I can personally do for you would be to move it to the web hosting forum, maybe somebody can offer some help.

Unless your website is hosted on your own computer, downloading openSSH wont be much help.

If your website is hosted, ask your hosting provider for secure shell.

Re: Using OpenSSL to create a SSL certificate for my site.

I figured that now since I could not find any topics relevant to my question while I was searching for a tutorial on how to use it.

Do you know a good place to get a SSL certificate cheap? My host doesnt provide them but he will install one for me if I purchase it from soemwhere else.

The only place I have come across is http://www.instantssl.com/ , but I cannot recommend them as I have never used them.

    Rackshack.net has them for $25.
