Post whata ya think?

I have my web site up. Forget the topic, you don't have to look at that, just tell me what you think of the overall appearance.

1- none of the images show
2- The scrolling body makes it impossible to read, If you want your visitors to stay you need to give them a reason, this just gives a reason to leave.

We all go thru the "look what I can do" phase, enjoy it then get it out of your system. You will find out simple is better.

    1- Problem fixed.
2- Don't you think that a little harsh?

I hardly agree with you. I just felt like making my site look like that. I don't know how my site is differen't from other sites. My pictures didn't show up because I forgot to change their links from my hard drive to my web page links.

I used to hate changing all the urls. Then I discovered new relative urls!

Takes two addresses to show a picture? Not me, I just use :

and as long as the target is within the same directory (folder) then it works.Very good for a lazy bugger like me.

I'm not quite sure what your talking about, but I mean like this.

I did my web page on my hard drive first, so when I copied and pasted it, it looked like this:

When it should have looked like this:

I'm not quite sure what you meant, so correct me if I'm wrong.

    No problem.

On your harddrive, say you have a folder, called 'websites' for example, that has your wenpage in it.

If you make the when picture gif is also in the same folder, it works.Odd.If picture.gif is anywhere but the same folder, then it doesn't work.

The same applies on the webspace, which is basically just someone elses harddrive.

On webspaces, or DOS or UNIX for that matter, they call folders directories.Thats the only difference. The directory your webspace is in is called allstarr, and its at the end of that long address so you know where to find it.Picture.gif is in the same directory in your example.

The upshot of this is, if you make your <img src="picture.gif> it will work on your harddrive, AND on your webspace.Saving lots of hassle.

You only need the full address if the img, or webpage , s in a different directory or folder.

    Hope this is clearer.

Now I get what your meaning. Ya, I was going to use that for my web page reformat. I think I'm going to switch to a different server because it wont allow me (Angelfire) to have Music Videos on it. Thanks!

Well, my site has changed dramatically. It isn't as "showy" like dave said it shouldn't be, and I guess it now has alot of reasons for people intrested in the topic to stay. And I found out I just needed an ftp server to get the music videos on it. Dave, is there any problems with this site? Be open, I want my site to be as good as possible.

It is taking good shape, you should be concerned about the horizontal scroll in 800x600 res.

The main body should not go more than 750 or 760 pixels. some people make the mistake of making it 800 but this leaves no room for the scroll bar, thus now they have a horizontal scroll too.

Is this problem just on the main front page?

If you see the problem I am refering to then youb should kinow what pages it is on. If you do not see the problem then your own resolution is set higher and you will need to set it to 800x600 and look around.

Is it really 800x600? That's HUGE on my comp. It makes your site scrolling so long, etc. I don't think mine is the same as others. That's why I asked you.
