Question using the URL to direct website visitors

    Hello,

I would like to direct visitors of my homepage to other pages based on which image they click on (the images are obviously linked). Examples are students, parents, teachers, etc. Each of these groups needs to see a different page.

However, I also am using frames and would like a navigation bar that shows up for everyone, regardless of which button they clicked on. I am not having any trouble with the frames, but when I load them I need to tell them what to put in the main part of the document. Because users already clicked on the buttons on the homepage, HTML does not seem to provide any answers.

SO -- I'm asking the gurus -- I would like to add a variable, maybe called "ID", and when users click on the image it would go to

    "http://[website].html?ID=sponsor", etc.

The ID would then tell the frames what to put in the main section of the page.

Can anyone help me set this up? I would really really appreciate it!!

It cannot be done with HTML, it would require scripting.

    So... moving to scripts
