    Question SVG Rollover graphics

Is there a way to make rollover graphics for an SVG graphic?
The problem i am running into is by using the rollover script i use fo .gif and/or .jpg and a script that will make it fade in and out along with the rollover will only work for gif's and jpg's. If I could I would like to use SVG's, since they look nicer anyways, and get them to fade and rollover as I can get a jpg to do. Any sugestions?

Could you define an SVG graphic for us? I have not heard of them myself.

    Arrow Svg

    http://www.duplicitydesign.com/top.html

Heres a link, the graphic which i speak of is the one that is a type font saying "duplicity design.." if you right click on it, you'll see the ability to zoom in and out, or set it back to its original size. what i'd like to do, is make it a rollover, but by using a typical rollover script or a fading script, i cant get it to work as it works with the <img> tag.

    Exclamation

how strange, it is *suposed* to fade in like that for the mouse over, but it doesnt work on my machine.. it just is there, all the time, mocking me.

::furthermore, it doesn't work on either of my machines..?

    SVG Rollover solution

    Hey guys,

The issue you're seeing is just that SVG is not a widely supported format yet. There are plugins available to view SVG files, but they won't play nice with Javascript until SVG support is built directly into the browser. I think Mozilla 1.7 is supposed to have this support, but Mozilla doesn't make up a large chunk of the userbase for web browsers.

So, the solution is to use a piece of software to convert your SVG files to PNG or JPEG or something more widely supported. I wrote an article a little while ago which has a neat solution for this problem. Check it out:
    http://www.shipyard.com.au/shipyard/articles/webdevelopment/less_bad_rollovers.py

    (sorry for the hideous URL).

Hope you all find it helpful.

    James.
