Thanks MJ for the surf+ screenshots . They boast that this is the way to targetted traffic, I am not sure how targetted these words could possibly be.

    edit:images lost

I have not posted fixes here yet because they have all had serious flaws

    eg.

refresh- refreshing the page seems to work, downfall is using a script to refresh could also get you kicked out of CPM networks.

Frames- these programs will not work on pages with frames, downfall is neither will the search engines (not as well)

There have been a couple new fixes come out in the last day or two, I will give it a couple more days to make sure that certain bugs have been worked out then I will post them here.

    Unhappy redirect

I just went to visit someone's site, and got the redirect to takebacktheweb.com. I don't have any odd links showing up on my system (and NOONE installs anything on this puter but me, since I've had trouble from hubby's games), so I can only think that my Norton Internet Security 2001 may have triggered the script.

    Agh.

    Strange

I know there is suppossed to be a script that when visited by a computer with either TopText or surf+ you can rediredt the user to a page of your choice, presumably a page which details the problem.

You may want to get in touch with the webmaster.

p.s.. just got off the phone, I understand there is a very upset F.B.I. agent

    Talking Get 'em

Well, the more biggies in on this, the better.

I did contact the webmaster. She had just installed the script last night and did not intend to have non-infected visitors re-directed. She's going to put up a virus warning instead. I'll send her by your page for those ready made links.

I just got an email from my website re: "official" info on the yellow/green link virus. What's the most "official"?

    Morning, evening everyone...yawn...
I see you've got your usual share of green slime Dave, not too much not to little, just enought to burn holes in my eyeballs!

I installed the script by Pete at trafficg/scumware
and no problems, working like a charm.

    Question url?

    mousejockey,
The URL you gave ends up going back to the index page. Is the scumware.htm in the member's section? Even typing the addy into the browser addy bar doesn't get me to a page with anything about the scumware problem.

    I wasn't clear

The email asked for "official" sites to look at. I sent him a list of sites including here, takebacktheweb, and the tripod site. Links from all those should lead to the majority of the sites involved.

Sorry I wasn't clear. it's getting later here, I should just stare at HTML this time of the evening. Yawn.
