    your iframe should have a name

    <iframe name=blah>
    </iframe>

    your link should target that name

    <a href="http://www.yahoo.com" target="blah">

    yeah I did what you said and everything seems to be right but it is still not opening in that window... www.freewebs.com/manicsewingcircle1/index2.html

    you will see what I mean there...

    this is what I did the index2 page as...

    <html>
    <frameset rows="100,*">
    <frame noresize="noresize" src="top.html" frameborder="0" framespacing="0">
    <frame noresize="noresize" src="bottom.html" frameborder="0" framespacing="0">
    </frameset>

    </html>

    thats the page where the INDEX2 shows as ( the page has both frames in it!)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    this is the top frame page...

    <html>
    <head>
    <style type="text/css">
    a.one:link {color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none}
    a.one:visited {color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none}
    a.one:hover {background: #cc0033; text-decoration: none}
    </style>
    </head>
    <body background="http://img44.photobucket.com/albums/v135/richys/checker.jpg"></body>
    <div align="center"><table tableborder="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="10" body bgcolor="black">
    <tr>
    <td><font color="white" size="5" face="carlisle"><a class="one" href="band.html" target="news.html">Band</a></td>
    <td><font color="white" size="5" face="carlisle"><a class="one" href="merch.html" target="news.html">Merch</a></td>
    <td><font color="white" size="5" face="carlisle"><a class="one" href="shows.html" target="news.html">Shows</a></td>
    <td><font color="white" size="5" face="carlisle"><a class="one" href="media.html" target="news.html">Media</a></td>
    </tr>
    </table></div>

    </html>

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    This is the bottom page......

    <html>
    <body bgcolor="black">
    </body>
    <head>
    <style type="text/css">
    BODY {
    background-color: #000000;
    scrollbar-arrow-color: #cc0033;
    scrollbar-3dlight-color: #000066;
    scrollbar-highlight-color: #cc0033;
    scrollbar-face-color: #990000;
    scrollbar-shadow-color: #cc0033;
    scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #99000;
    scrollbar-track-color: #000000;
    }
    </style>
    </head>

    You have not applied a valid name to the frameset, iframe or the targets. check out the HTML frame tutorials here at ahfb and give it another shot.
