    Starting an animated gif

I have built an animated gif of a car moving down a road (car.gif). And also an image of a key (key.gif) (client's demands, not mine!). I need to be able to click on the key to trigger the animated gif. Anyone know the code? Many thanks.

    Hi there jimsteele,

The simple answer is you cannot

But that answer is of no use to you so...
you may find this http://www.dansteinman.com/dynduo/en/gifanim.html of great interest

To make life easier I have extacted all the salient parts
and included them in a zip file so that you try it with
    your car and your key

    Solution

Couldn't get that code to work for me. I guess there were too many variables to change and I messed up! Anyway, found a solution - I used the behaviours controls in UltraDev and turned the first image into a onMouseDown which when clicked swapped with the other image, thus giving the impression that you are triggering or starting the animation on the mouse click, when you are really just flipping between a static and an animated gif. Hope this helps others.
