After discovering these scumbags I joined in the fight. Thank you for your letter of concern regarding the distribution of KaZaa
Media Desktop on CNET Download.com. We are aware that KaZaa's installer
file currently bundles EZula's Top Text browser plug-in and that the
TopText software has raised concerns by some web site publishers.
One of the more recent trends surfacing among downloadable software is
the notion of "bundling," where developers include third-party software
within their installers that piggyback on top of the initial download.
These components are usually included as a way to generate revenue for
the parent sofware developer, and they often serve ads, track Web
surfing habits, or (in Top Text's case) add or modify links within a
user's Web browser.
We attempt to inform users of the presence of these components when we
become aware of them; for KaZaa, we have included a note in the
product's description explaining the implications of these bundled

thoroughly review the entire software installation process for any piece
of software. However, since Top Text is presently an add-on component
