    Question Loading a window with partic. size

    Gang -

    I want a URL to load and post in a browser to a specific size and location onscreen. I know I'm close b/c I understand (or think) this has something to do w/the onload function and the open window. Whenever I implement, all the examples and attempts come out to be in a new window. I want this to happen, so that when the browser loads this page for the first time, not on the opening of a new window, I can use whatever attributes I choose (location, toolbar, etc.).

    Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance!

    Hi there lsachs,

    I am taking a guess that this is what you want...
    Code:

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>window open</title>
    </head>

    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function myWindow() {

    var url="http://www.google.com/";
        var name="google";
        var features="width=400,height=240,top=150,left=150,resizable=yes,location=yes,toolbar=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes";

    window.open(url,name,features);

    }
    //-->
    </script>

    <body onload="myWindow();">
    </body>
    </html>

    Thanks CH. Actually, would you believe after I posted it, the nifty feature of this board posted similar queries below mine and one of them zeroed right in on my answer. It's the resize function...

    window.resizeTo(800,600)

    Now I just need to get it to site up in upper left, which I'm pretty sure is moveTo(x,y), but I'm still testing.

    Thanks though...yours is another way. I also should've stated I intended this to resize the parent or original window...not any popup or child window. We live and learn.........
