    Email with Javascript

    Hi
I'm quite new to javascript. I am currently working on an online job application system where I require users to enter their name, address, resume, etc. in spaces provided, and then, upon clicking the "Submit" button, I require all this info to be emailed to the user automatically, as well as go on to the next page. Can anyone help please?

    Thanks

Hiya, apologies for the delay in answer.

JavaScript is definitely not the best way to send an email from a webpage. In fact, anthing using a 'mailto:' href is a bad way to go.

You would need some kind of server-side scripting. What languages does your web-host support?

Ok. I am using jsp to desgin the web pages, and jdbc to connect to my database. What scripting language do you suggest? Sorry this sounds dumb - i'm completely new to web design.

Sorry, your using Server-side so thats fine, that will work fine. I assumed (My mistake) that you were using Client-side javascript.

I saw a simple example of using jsp to send an email here:
