Help with a CSS menu layout
I'm trying to overhaul my website using XHTML and CSS.
The downside to this being that I first need to learn XHTML and CSS
I'm trying to do my navigation so that links are overlaid on an image and the background to the link turns white when you mouse-over.
So far so good, not a problem.
The CSS file is:
I cannot for the life of me think of a way to align the text vertically in the center of each link box - is there any way to do this, and if so what is it?
I have a feeling that the way I've done the links is totally crappy.
Please if you have a better way to acheive the same thing then tell me, I'll be the first to admit I really don't know much about what I'm trying to do here.
Thanks for any help you can give me

O.o;; Maybe I'm not looking at it correctly, but the link titles (Software, etc) appear to be vertically and horizontally centered. Is there something else you are trying to achieve?
Honestly, I haven't seen navigation styled like that, but it's pretty cool.
What browser are you using? I've checked it in Firefox and IE and they look good.

No I managed to fix it myself and forgot to post saying so.
I re-wrote the menu from scratch using an unordered list and LI elements instead - seemed to work.
