    Question Rel Link

    Hello. How do you do a "REL LINK" please? I got the part you put in the head, I think. Need to know how to set-up the css page. (TIA)

    Hiya unregi

    Okay, you said you have the HEAD bit, butn I prefer to start at the beginning...

    This, placed in your <HEAD>, is a link to an external Style Sheet =

    Code:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css" type="text/css">
    This links to a stylesheet. We know this. The thing to remember about an external Stylesheet is that it has no HTML in it at all. No <STYLE> tags, nothing. Its just a list of rules. Plain text file, saved as *.css.

    For an example of an external stylesheet, either go to my homepage -

    http://www.evertale.com/dean

    and click the StyleSheet link, or find the tutorials in Daves resource list. They are by me, so cannot guarantee quality!

    Talking Changes to link

    Thank you. It works now. When I make changes to my ??.css page in Notepad I have to upload the new page everytime before the changes are seen. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

    P.S. Hope my name shows up this time. I am registered. 0-html

    Cool. Glad its working now.

    Yep. Thats normal. The <link> reads the rules in the ??.css file, so if you have not uploaded it then its reading the wrong version.

    Welcome to the funky world of css!
