    Question Inline Frames Help

    Hi guys...I am new here.
    I am having a problem with Inline Frames.

    I am placing an inline frame on my site, and it will point to a news headline page. This is the page - http://www.globeandmail.com/generated/headlines/html/Toronto.html

    What I need to happen is have all of the links on that page open in a new window. Currently, they have all of their links set up to open in the same window...I do not want to have to go and set the target every time that page is updated. Is there anything I can do with the set-up of my inline frame that will tell the browser to open any link in that frame in a new window?

    Thanks

    Tony

    Hi TDS. Welcome to the forums.

    With frames, you can put this tag in the HEAD of the target document -

    Code:
    <base target="_blank">
    This will make the new default for that page to be a new window per link.

    of course, that depends on whether you have access to the source page or not. Let us know if that works for you.

    Thanks for the quick reply...
    I don't have access to the source document...that is why I was wondering if there was a way to get any link within that inline frame to open in a new window.

    Can you think of anything?

    Hmm. I admit I am not too hot on inline frames. Or any frames, for that matter.

    Try putting target="_blank" in the bit about src="etc.

    Maybe that will work.
