    Wait a second...didn't we explore this whole CGI thing just so we could avoid JavaScript as a security measure?

    Means all I have to do is disable JavaScript and I can get to the page.

    I would try a different CGI password gateway. Look for one where you can include the script on each 'secure' page, so that no matter where you come from or what yoo do, unless you have loggged in you can't see the page.

    sorry had a relapse

    have a program the only problem is the servers we use don't allow .htaccess to be used at all.

    so have had a lot of problems and have now found out that they want to charge us for the use of php on there servers.

    the password gateway I have the writers don't reply to there email. I would like to be able to clear the logs and or print them and a having problems with that also am using a tracking program called axs which is brill but want to include the username on the first part tracked and having problems with that.

    all in all not haveing a good day

    now have the page only load thru the password gate

    chmod

    hi am realy getting on with this now thanks to your help.

    But I have made a mistake i am using ws_ftp le

    and chmod a directory to 777 and it should have been 775 but now am unable to see the directory to change it back any help please

    Wow thats weird. 777 shouldn't stop the dir from being seen, should aid it in being seen if anything.

    Tried a different FTP client just to see if its a prob with WS_FTP?

    That code should be figuring the path for you. If it isn't, then the only way I could find the path would be to check with my hosting provider. You will have to do this if the above does not work.
