    need help with my forum

    i was set a challenge to create a forum and get so many members by the end of the week
    i have created the forum tho it still needs alot of work and now all i have to do is find members
    whats the easiest way of doing this because i am totally stuck
    also could some of you view my forum and give me some constructive feedback

    I'm not really into the colors, but I like how there are a bunch of topics... it's kind of the same idea that I tried with my forum (which is actually phpBB too!).

    As for the finding members... a link exchange with me?

    Yeah, I agree the colors are very unusual and are not easy on eyes, but the topics are really good so try to keep the forum updated with new threads and posts. Try to get new members by introducing a referral program with the help of the existing members.

    The thread is 9 months old but I will jump in as well. The most common mistake for folks setting up forums is starting with too many categories. You should start with as few as possible, no more than 10, even that is a bunch. Let the members dictate what categories should open down the road. As the forum progresses you will get a good idea of what categories and when to open them. Some think that the long list of categories give the impression of a larger site. Reality is that a bunch of empty forums give the opposite impression.
