    IE5 Mac hates me

    I have a site I am working on that just has be stumped in IE5 Mac (always my problem child).

    Site is here: http://limelife.odweb.com/template.php

    While all other browsers are accepting the left floats and I have done builds really close to this structure many times, this time IE5 Mac is ignoring some of the floats.

    Style sheet is here: http://limelife.odweb.com/css/main.css

    If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be eternally grateful.

    Thanks!

    Hi, welcome to the forums.

    I can't help directly, as I dont own a mac. However, it might help to check the ie5/mac bugs here:http://www.macedition.com/cb/ie5macbugs/ and see if any of them are the culprit.

    Re: IE5 Mac hates me

    Unfortunately I already checked several CSS Mac Bug listings and cannot find anything that explains what is going on.

    Anyone else out there got any ideas?

    Re: IE5 Mac hates me

    well, i may be wrong on this, because i cannot check it on my parents mac, but...

    this line:
    Code:
    #contentmain #left {width:223px; height:390px; float:left; margin:0 15px 0 0; background-image: url("/images/bg_left.gif"); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:top;}
    compared to this line:
    Code:
    #contentmain #homemain {display: inline; width:598px; height:190px; float:left; background-image:url(/images/bg_home_mid.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; margin:0; padding:0;}
    does the "" make a difference?

    Tried adding in the quotes. Then tried pulling all the quotes out. Both validate on W3C. Unfortunately, neither attempt fixed the display problem.

    Re: IE5 Mac hates me

    i also noticed one more strange thing, the way the HTML is setup...

    this is what i am talking about:
    Code:
    <div id="container">
    <div id="header">
    <a href="http://limelife.odweb.com/index.php"><img src="http://limelife.odweb.com/images/logo_sml.gif" alt="limelife" title="limelife" width="143" height="85" border="0" class="logo"></a>
    <div id="nav">
    could that be part of the problem? the fact that you are doing "div" a bunch of times?

    and one more thing to try; on the mac, delete all the temporary internet files, and the cookies; i have found that to be a problem some times.
