Aloha, greetings, hola and hello!
Just discovered this Forum via the Cultforum.com. Looks like one of the better ones on the net.
I've been programming since the late 1970s, culminating with my DOS desktop operating system available at http://dos.jamrent.com - don't expect many users to actually download and install it but there are some other quick and dirty DOS based programs at the downloads page.
My personal web site is at http://ben.ciriacks.com - it points to numerous others that'll put anyone to sleep in no time.
My latest domain name acquisition is at
and, as can be seen there and at various other of my 600+ web site html pages, it indicates that I've always been and will always be graphically challenged -- hence my interest in and continued usage every day of numerous DOS programs.
Almost all of my web sites and others I like and use most often can be accessed via
which is my version of the dumb Netscape and IE favorites or bookmarks pages. (You have to look at the source code to find the dozens of URLs hidden inside almost all of those ISMAP'd images.)
Prefer TABLES and limited external file coding over .css but do appreciate the graphic and organizational abilities of those who can and do program really nice .css based web sites.
Am glad this Forum exists and is here.

Thanks, Dave! I'll try to restrain my emoticon dependence to a reasonable level.
No big secret on why you're getting hits from our Mod/Admin forum. We got the same spam from Adam Barber that you did and I just pointed out how you dealt with it.

Hey, while we're all sitting around here chatting about our "dependence" issues, how does one change their avatar to a picture like you two have?
I can't see any place in my profile page that has anything to do with the avatar - but, then, my vocuabulary of Tech Forum geekedness is very limited _ i may just not be recognizing the proper key words on that page.
