using forms to display dynamic data

What I'm trying to do is get number of rows from a drop down list, and a row spacing from another drop down list. Once these two are chosen I want to display input boxes (the same number as the number of rows) and the value of those boxes to be what was entered in the row spacing drop down list.
I have everythign working with the exception that the Javascript displays it in a fresh screen, not on the current screen. I want it to be a part of a form and if they pick 2 for the rows and 40 for the spacing, to have those results come up further down on the page.
I'm using document.write("......") but that is displaying it on a new screen.
    ideas?

    try adding something like this:
    HTML Code:
    <div id="mydiv"></div>
and insted of using document.write(), use:

    document.getElementById('mydiv').innerHTML
