    Unhappy javascript link problem

Whenever i try to click a link with javascript in it there is no response. For example... This link:

    javascript: playVideo('22663182',%20{rdPath:'launch/hp/vidchart/8',%20destURL:'http://music.yahoo.com/musicvideos'})

I can never open a link with javascript in it. Can anyone help me with this problem? thanks

    Re: javascript link problem

i see you say are tying to call "playVideo", but are you including the subfunction in your page?

the eassiest way for any of us to help is if we can either see the page, or see the html in your page.

    Re: javascript link problem

No the page isnt the problem. Anything i tryed to click with the word javascript: ... in it does not respond.

    another example can is:

    javascript: %20editInterest('headline');

So, javascript:%20editInterest('headline'); is the html code for the page

basically anything that has javascript as the link doesnt work!

    Re: javascript link problem

that is because you cant use a link like that.

here is a wrong way to javascript link a page:
    HTML Code:
    <a href="Javascript: alert('this wont work!')">click here</a>
this is how it is done correctly:
    HTML Code:
    <a href="#" onclick="Javascript: alert('this will work!')">click here</a>
it sounds like that is your problem,

    Re: javascript link problem

    Hi there lilaznbo14life,

    No need to use javascript:.
    Simply call the function...
    Code:
    <a href="#" onclick="alert('this will work!');return false">click here</a>
