    Format Problem

    Hi all, well I took care of my other problem, thanks vinyl-junkie! However, I now have a formatting problem on this page URL removed by request For me the page shows up just fine, but I am hearing that it shows up kinda funky on Internet Explorer for some people. Could someone please tell me how to correct this? Thanks.

    Hi madeline, welcome to the forums

    I have looked at the page with both Firefox and IE6 under XP, looks great with both.

    That's weird, because it looks like http://www.napathon.net/images/khorifaison.jpg this for me in IE6.

    vinyl-junkie, it looks like like you have your browser set to "large" font.

    Ah, that explains it! Still, whatever font size a visitor is using shouldn't break the page.

    Re: Format Problem

    The problem is that a larger font will stretch the table cell. I will try to work something up with CSS later, that should keep the font the same size regardless of the browser settings.

    Re: Format Problem

    Ok here is what I did,

    I changed the CSS file
    Code:
    a.white {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none;}
    a.white:hover {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #FF6C01; text-decoration: none;}
    a.orange {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #FF6C01; text-decoration: none;}
    a.orange:hover {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none;}
    a.yellow {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none;}
    a.yellow:hover {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #FFFF00; text-decoration: none;}
    a.team {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #224E5F; text-decoration: underline;}
    a.team:hover {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #224E5F; text-decoration: none;}
    a {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #224E5F; text-decoration: none;}
    a:hover {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #224E5F; text-decoration: underline;}

    .smallfont
    {
    font: 11px; Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif;
     color: #ffffff}
    I added the span class=smallfont to the text of the HTML. I also needed to move the "Windows Player" text up to the "download" line reducing the amount of line breaks.

    What you need to do now is to ...
    1: replace the content of your CSS file with the code provided above.

    2: open your HTML document and find
    Code:
    5. Part Of Your World. (2/06)<br>

    Downloads:<br>
     <a class=orange href="video-clips/Part Of Your World 2.wmv">Windows Player</a><br>
    <br>
    4. O Holy Night. (12/05)<br>

    Downloads:<br>
     <a class=orange href="video-clips/O-Holy-Night.wmv">Windows Player</a><br>
    <br>
    3. Khori learning to sing the song Respect. (11/05)<br>

    Downloads (Audio only):<br>
     <a class=orange href="video-clips/Khori-singing-Respect.mpg">Windows Player</a><br>
    <br>
    2.
    First Performance: Tomorrow.

     (1/05 )<br>

    Downloads:

     <br>
    <a class=orange href="video-clips/First-performance-tomorrow.wmv">Windows Player</a><br>
    <br>
    1. Khori's Whistle Register.
     Having fun at home!<br>

    Downloads:<br>
     <a class=orange href="video-clips/Khori-whistle-register.wmv">Windows Player</a><br>
    and replace it with
    Code:
    <span class="smallfont">5. Part Of Your World. (2/06)<br>
    Downloads:</span><a class=orange href="video-clips/Part Of Your World 2.wmv">Windows Player</a><br><br>
    <span class="smallfont">4. O Holy Night. (12/05)<br>
    Downloads:</span><a class=orange href="video-clips/O-Holy-Night.wmv">Windows Player</a><br><br>
    <span class="smallfont">3. Khori learning to sing the song Respect. (11/05)<br>
    Downloads (Audio only):</span> <a class=orange href="video-clips/Khori-singing-Respect.mpg">Windows Player</a><br><br>
    <span class="smallfont">2. First Performance: Tomorrow. (1/05 )<br>
    Downloads:</span> <a class=orange href="video-clips/First-performance-tomorrow.wmv">Windows Player</a><br><br>
    <span class="smallfont">1. Khori's Whistle Register. Having fun at home!<br>
    Downloads: </span> <a class=orange href="video-clips/Khori-whistle-register.wmv">Windows Player</a><br><br>
    Good luck

    It looks ok now when I set my text size to Larger in IE, but when I set the text size to Largest in IE, it looks the same as the screen print I posted.

    Re: Format Problem

    I don't know where the CSS file is. Do you know what folder I would find it in? I know really absolutely nothing about this stuff, just learning.

    I also wanted to let you know that I must have left out a space between downloads: and windows player for items 4 and 5.

    The css file is called style.css and is in the same folder.

    Ok, I found the style-css file. So now ther is a problem with the downloads? It shows ok on my screen? I'm scared I might mess something up here.
