    Fixed Border/Sides

    Hey again. This time I'm making a fan site for Atreyu, one of my favorite bands. So yeah I want this border type thing thats fixed while other stuff can move and still look around. A good example of this is http://www.amberpacific.com Is that even HTML? or should I be doing something totally different. I checked out view source and couldn't find anything. Any help?

    Re: Fixed Border/Sides

    Hi there southsidesk8er1,

    the site to which you referred, uses an image similar to this...

    ...and it is then set as the body background, repeated vertically.
    Below is the simple code that will show its implementation...
    Code:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>fixed background image</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    <base href="http://coothead.homestead.com/files/">
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    body {
        background-color:#f8f8f8;
        background-image:url(back.jpg);
        background-repeat:repeat-y;
        background-attachment:fixed;
        background-position:center top;
        color:#304f54;
     }
    #foo {
        width:592px;
        margin:auto;
     }
    #foo p {
        background-color:#f8f8f8;
        margin:10px 20px;
        font-family:verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;
        font-size:18px;
        color:#304f54;

    Hi there southsidesk8er1,
    the image you posted isn't available anymore.
    What do you mean isn't available.
    Are you saying that you cannot see an image that has a width of 760px and a height of 283px.

    You can find it here also...

    Hi there southsidesk8er1,
    nevermind I got it to work
    Well, surely, that should not have been too difficult.

    All you had to do was' copy and paste' the code that I provided.
    I am certain that this would not require a degree in rocket science to achieve.

    Re: Fixed Border/Sides

    I was at school on the computers when I said that. So when I copy and pasted it would take some stuff out, and the image wouldn't display. Sorry for all that.
