    2 problems

    1)I can yell you how to print a specific page, so if the map were on a page and not hiddin it may work.
    2) of course it would not work if the user has print images turned off in thier system.

    Dave - thanx - can you make this work for me

    If not a picture then perhaps an HTML page (which contains the picture) instead..

    I have been given the following but cant get it to work:
    it says [err - parent.frames[1] is null or is not an object]

    <a href="pagetoprint.htm" onClick="if (window.print) {
    parent.frames[1].focus();
    parent.frames[1].print();
    }
    return false">

    I take it I should have entered something else other than just the 'pagetoprint.htm' doc to make it work..

    1. Can you advise the correction...?
    if it works ok, and if someone clicks the "print" instruction

    2. Is there a way I can force it to start the print without going thru the printers own window..?

    3. Is there a way I can stop it bringing the document on screen..?

    If you would like to see the problem, the website I am working on is: www.elitestairways.com and the page is "Contact"
    the object of the exercise is to get rid of the button.. so that it looks like the email one above.. (I am not a webmaster this is my sisters site that I said I would try to build for her, hence my ignorance)..

    Thank you.

    Add this to the <head>

    PHP Code:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!--
    Begin
    function printWindow() {
    bV parseInt(navigator.appVersion);
    if (
    bV >= 4window.print();
    }
    //  End -->
    </script>

    add this to the <body>

    PHP Code:
    <a href="javascript:printWindow()">Print This Page</a
    remove the space between java and script to make it one word ;)

    Again, please remember the end user must have print images enabled in his/her browser.

    questions 2 and 3...no and no ;)

    Thanx again dave

    Unfortunately its not what I really wanted, your script prints the page in the window - I need to print a page thats not on screen - if it cant be done I'll have to think of some other way to get the info across to the end user.. cheers...
