    html Anchor link failed

    Recently I've been having trouble linking to the exact location in another web page.

    Starting in page A, I'll enter the following link:
    href="archived_tips.htm#tip043"

    In page B the anchor reads:
    <a name="tip043"</a>

    When I test the link it takes me the the correct page but to what seems to be an arbitrary location. Only after I refreshing does the correct location come up.

    Any ideas as to why I may be experiencing this behavior?

    Was that copied and pasted right from your code, or did you edit out whatever was inbetween <a> and </a> ?

    What browser are you using? Because I have a similar problem in IE when using anchor links. The code works and actually places you at the right spot, but for some reason the browser doesn't catch up. When I click on an anchor link, all I have to do is move the scroller on my mouse a fraction and suddenly I'll be right where I should be.
