    Anyone know of a bookmark counter script?

    I have a site with a "Bookmark This Page" button on it. I would like to know exactly how many people are actually bookmarking the site.

    Does anyone know of a script that will count the number of times my page is bookmarked?

    Thanks in advance.

    there are a few ways of testing it... the eassiest is to add some php or another server side language to it and have it load an external js file which is actually a php file which counts.

    sound confusing?

    well, it's quite simple... in a server side language have it output the header "Content-Type: text/javascript" then have it do whatever it does to count the hits (there are a ton of free ones out there) then have the javascript do something like:

    Code:
    js = document.createElement('script');
    js.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript');
    js.setAttribute('src', 'location_of_your_server_side_script.php');
    document.body.appendChild(js);
    That is what i would do... then just have an onclick of the button run that script,
    -ALL

    Thanks! That would probably help someone who had a clue. Unfortunately, I dont. lol

    I can figure out what a script does, most of the time, but to start anything from scratch, I am beyond hope.

    I was hoping someone had something like this packaged up already.
