Does it take up less room to have one of those bars that has the play button, stop button etc. Would it be quicker to load if I just put one of those bars in rather than the
<BGSOUND SRC="song.mp3" LOOP=infinite>
If the bar does take less space, how do I make one on my page???

The bar doesn't help. its just a control panel.
You may want to look into 'streaming' your music. The only problem with streaming is that it relies on the software.

So is are you saying that streaming the music will make is smaller, and quicker to download off the page?
If so, how does one stream the music?

Streaming is done via a program on the users computer. Flash or QuickTime can do it.
It works by downloading a small amount of music at a time, basically, it downloads the next bit of music while you listen to the first bit.
I have never really used it myself, so have a look here -
