    help with blurry image

    Hey folks

I am attempting to help a friend with her site, but as many of you know...I am not a graphics guy. The image is a book (back)cover for her latest writings, and the original sent from the publisher is just not too good.

What I am needing is a 207x320, as well as a 333x514 of the attached image. By looking at the attched image the problem of the hard to read text will become obvious.

    Can anybody lend a hand?

    Dave

    Re: help with blurry image

I hope the attachment shows up. I don't attach images to posts too often.

I didn't change the dimensions of the image but cleaned up the text so it's a little sharper. Hope this is what you're looking for.

On the resized images, do you want her picture to be the same size or what?

Thank you v-j I will run this by her and see what she thinks. It seems to be a very difficult image to work with...or maybe it is just me

Nah, it's not just you. That angled text on either side of the text that needs sharpening makes it very difficult to select the portion of the image that you need to work with.

If you need any more help with this, just say the word.

    Dave,

I know this is a little late, but there is a great tool out there called FastStone. It is a screen capture tool, but also a wonderful editor. It is freeware and very simple to use. I am unable to give you the link right now as I don't have enough posts

I hope this can help you in the future.

Sorry, but I forgot to mention another editing software. It's freeware as well. Its called XnView and can not only edit your photos, but the pics can be saved as .ico so you can make your own desktop icons.
