    clear: all;
    is not a css property - try
    clear: both;

    Re: footer overlaps with content

    i tried switching it to both, and no luck, my footer still floats on top of the content. it's really weird, it will place itself at the bottom of the browser window instead of the bottom of the page.

    ps- it's on firefox that it does that, but i'd imagine that it still doesn't function properly on others

    Code:
    <div id="footer">
                <table width="760" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
                    <tr>
                        <td height="10" colspan="2" valign="top">
                            <img src="./images/borders.jpg" width="760" height="2" alt="">
                        </td>
                    </tr>
                    <tr>
                        <td width="482">

    Post the code for the whole page or else a URL for it. We need to see the whole page code to help you further.
