    Re: signatures

I have now removed all nofollow attributes.

The problem is that the script does not differ between posts and signatures, I was having to manually edit the database. Unfortunately the script put the nofollow right back up.

    The script is now removed.

    Re: signatures

thats because you need to assign the signature section a different class, otherwise the script you're using will not be able to differentiate between regular reply content and signature content.

    Are signatures automatically enabled

Just a followup question...are sig files enabled automatically after 5 posts or do we have to request somehow

You should now be able to see the option to add a signature to your profile, since you have greater than 5 posts. If you don't see it, let us know.

    Re: signatures

Go into User CP (your user control panel). On the left side of that screen where it says Settings & Options, the first entry in that section should say Edit Signature. If you don't see that, Dave will need to fix your signature problem for you.

If for some reason you are still having troubles, make a post with your desired sig and I will do it from here.

    Another signature file question

    Hello Dave:
I am conducting a test,,,and wanted to check if displaying an autoresponder email (see example) was against the forum rules about email addresses?
    Example:
Exclusive: click here - 21-WebPromoTips@aweber.com - to join my 21-day "Web Traffic & Promotion Programs" Quick TIPS list via e-mail.
    Thanks in advance

    Re: signatures

Aside from the fact that AHFB filters email addresses, this would be considered self-promotion and subject to removal.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see you were talking about signatures. Still, AHFB would filter your email address so you'd have to find another way to do this.

    Hello,

I find this thread very instructive, not only because of what I learn about this forum rules and moderation approach, but also because of the follow vs nofollow discussion, which leads me to a question: how do you check if a link you have on any web site is follow or no follow?

Until recently I did not know of any other way of knowing this apart from logging into Webmaster Tool --> Search Traffic --> Links to Your Site. More recently I also discovered that my WordPress JetPack plug-in has a tool called Referrers which allows me to see what search engines and domains were or are linked to my site.

Are there other more direct ways to know if a site is configured using a follow or a no follow link to our site?

    Thank you.
