Backgrounds and Images
This is my first posting.
I'm having trouble getting a background of image to come up. Question One. Where does the source image need to be? in the same directory as the source code or subdirectory?
When I code <body background="images/sailbaot.jpg" I get nothing. When I code <img scr="images/sailboat.jpg" I get the box placed for the image but on image. Properties says "not available" I put the pic in the parent directory and also in a sub-directory named images and still get nothing.

Hi there.
The source file needs to be wherever your link says it is.
images/file.jpg would mean you have to have the image in a subdir called images.
Try keeping it in the same directory and using just file.jpg instead of images/file.jpgIf one of our members helps you, please click theicon to add to their reputation!

Check to see if your image file was uploaded with capital letters or small letters.
Cute ftp has a way of tripping me up on this. When I sometimes upload an image in all small letters it will go across as first letter cap or all caps.
If this happens just click on the file and rename it to the orginal syntax.
Hope this helps.

That is why smart ftp is better
Well everything that had been said before, but also check if you actually have the file uploaded
P.S. it is not "scr", it is "src"

Thanks everybody for the replies. I guess that I should answer when I solve the problem....like calling what it is named or naming what you want to call. Not the first time for this mistake. I've got the same pic named different ways with different editing features, and didn't key the right name. D'oh!

dave,
more smilies are not working on this thread, don't know about the other threads.
Also when I click on smilies where it says smilies are on I get the page but no notations to type in.
(the page I get is very slow and I am on cable.)

The Get more smilies shows all 266 therefore it will take a little while to load, many of these I have not entered code for yet.
When clicking on the smilies to the left of the post reply box, do those work for you?
